Some of the Decom leads went out to the site for this years event.
Here is some of my impressions of the place.
It is flat and dusty desert. It was very windy while we where there and that is pretty normal for the daylight hours out there. So bring some extra tie-downs and be ready to stake down everything.
There is no shade what so ever so basically pack like you would be setting up on the playa.
There is a small town that is within direct eyesight but several miles off in the distance, and there is a small airport that is less than two miles away. So it is very exposed and people looking in will be an issue.
We encourage RV's and would like to use them as a wall to block line of site from the road that runs close to one side of the property. But anyone with a pair of binoculars will be able to peer into the event from anywhere for miles around.
It was close to 100 degrees at around 3:00 PM, and I would expect it to get very cold at night, so you will finally get a chance to where your cool new fur coat that you never needed at the burn this year.
But best of all, Taz says that he is comfortable with doing fire out there!
Big Fire!
So, come prepared for hard core desert survival camping and don't forget to tie everything down, and bring your coat, and get ready for FIRE!
